Summary: The Structural Analysis Engineer at TÜV SÜD will provide technical consultancy support, specializing in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), vibration assessment, and steel frame structural design. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct FEA simulations for static and dynamic load cases, including seismic and vibration analysis.
- Develop and validate steel support frames and rigid fixtures.
- Perform response spectrum analysis and damping evaluations for equipment qualification.
- Perform FE analyses using Ansys LS-DYNA to simulate structural, dynamic and impact behaviour of components and systems.
- Collaborate with external clients to support testing.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and project-specific compliance requirements.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in FEA tools such as ANSYS for structural and vibration analysis.
- Strong understanding of material behaviour, structural mechanics and finite element theory.
- Strong knowledge of dynamic loads, seismic analysis, random vibration and response spectrum analyses.
- Familiarity in steel frame design, welding standards, and material properties for carbon and stainless steel.
- Familiarity with vibration testing instrumentation and accelerometer data interpretation.
- Proficiency in Ansys LS-DYNA for explicit dynamic simulations, in particular for impact and explosion loads.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and manage client/supplier interactions under tight deadlines.
- Understanding of nuclear industry standards and quality assurance processes.
- Eligibility for UK security clearance at Security Check (SC) level.
- Experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics would be beneficial.

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Analysis Engineer to provide support for technical consultancy projects. The successful candidate will specialise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) , vibration assessment, steel frame structural design, and explicit dynamics analysis, ensuring compliance with stringent engineering standards and project requirements. Experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and pressurised systems would also be of benefit.

- Previous experience supporting high-integrity engineering projects.
