Summary: We are looking for a Storage Architect/Engineer to support a hyperscale data center utilizing HPE technology. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-class storage solutions while ensuring high availability and performance. The position requires advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to create operational documentation. This is a remote role with some travel required in Texas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement storage architecture for hyperscale environments using HPE technologies.
- Design solutions for block, file, and object storage, including dataset layouts.
- Architect active-active replication across two availability zones with <3ms latency.
- Create operational runbooks and playbooks for storage processes.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of storage hardware and SAN infrastructure.
- Manage blade movements, SAN director connectivity, and production operations.
- Collaborate with networking teams on VLAN configurations, SFPs, and port activations.
- Write detailed operational playbooks and runbooks for ongoing support.
- Define backup and replication policies leveraging Commvault and Cohesity.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years in enterprise storage architecture and engineering.
- 1-2 years hands-on experience with HPE storage products.
- Strong operational background in production environments.
- Deep understanding of block, file, and object storage.
- Expertise in SAN architecture, Brocade fiber switches, and director connectivity.
- Familiarity with backup applications and policy design.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and network connectivity issues.
- Experience writing operational playbooks/runbooks.
- Willingness to work during change windows (including weekends).
- Strong collaboration skills with networking and infrastructure teams.

- Architecture & Design (50%)
- Develop and implement storage architecture for hyperscale environments using HPE technologies.
- Design solutions for block, file, and object storage, including dataset layouts.

- Perform advanced troubleshooting of storage hardware and SAN infrastructure.

- Documentation & Process Development (20%)
- Write detailed operational playbooks and runbooks for ongoing support.
