Summary: The SSOW Planner role involves planning and creating Safe System of Work (SSOW) Packs to ensure safety for personnel working near railway tracks. The contract is for a rolling period of three months, with a focus on maintaining effective communication and continuous improvement of safety measures. The role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and create comprehensive Safe System of Work (SSOW) Packs, ensuring the safety of all personnel working on or near railway tracks.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and identify hazards associated with the site and work activities.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and effective safety planning.
- Ensure all work adheres to rail safety regulations, standards, and legal requirements.
- Maintain strong communication with work teams, providing clear instructions and ensuring understanding of safety measures.
- Continuously review and update SSOW plans to reflect any changes in site conditions or regulations.
- Participate in safety audits and incident investigations to improve safety measures.
Key Skills:
- A proven track record of preparing all associated SSOW plans.
- Valid SSOWP competence.
- RailHub experience.
- Able to start on a week’s notice (ideally).
