Sr UI/UX Designer- W2

Summary: The Sr UI/UX Designer role involves designing user-centered interfaces for web applications while collaborating with product managers and engineers to create effective digital experiences. The position requires extensive experience in UI/UX design, proficiency in design tools, and a strong understanding of UX principles. The designer will also mentor junior developers and advocate for accessibility in all digital solutions. This role is fully remote and classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design, development, and deployment of complex, enterprise-grade web applications.
• Review requirements and system analysis documents to ensure completeness and technical feasibility.
• Design and document solutions that follow agreed-upon design patterns, coding standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with the QA team to support functional testing, defect resolution, and release activities.
• Work with the Deployment Lead and peer developers to ensure smooth project deployments.
• Maintain proper use of source control (e.g., Git) and ensure delivery of all required technical artifacts.
• Mentor junior developers, sharing technology and application knowledge to build team capability.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business and user needs into effective digital experiences.
• Design intuitive, accessible, and responsive web interfaces aligned with OptumCare's design standards.
• Conduct user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing to refine and validate designs.
• Design user-centered interfaces for internal web applications and support tools.
• Translate complex workflows into intuitive wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and stakeholder interviews to inform design decisions.
• Develop and maintain design systems and reusable UI components.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure design fidelity and responsiveness across devices.
• Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design in all digital solutions.
• Continuously iterate on designs based on feedback, analytics, and business needs.

Key Skills:

• 8+ years of experience in UI/UX design for web-based or enterprise applications.
• Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar design tools.
• Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and responsive design.
• Experience working in Agile or cross-functional product teams.
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS and front-end workflows (coding not required).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience designing for internal tools or enterprise platforms.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508) and inclusive design.
• Familiarity with design systems and component-based approaches.
• Experience conducting user research and data-informed design.
