Our client seeks a Sr Test Development Engineer to lead and build end-to-end automated tests for integrated software and firmware within CGM systems. The role will design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test solutions, including hardware fixtures, and will validate products across firmware, mobile apps, and server platforms. The engineer will drive quality through systematic test planning, scripting, risk assessment, documentation, and analysis, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, execution, and maintenance of product end-to-end automated tests for software and firmware integrations in CGM systems.
  • Use AI systems to accelerate test development and execution while maintaining coverage quality.
  • Develop and maintain CICT for end-to-end test suites.
  • Record and track issues in the defect tracking system.
  • Analyze failures and collaborate with development teams to investigate root causes.
  • Review software and system requirements and design specifications.
  • Modify test protocols based on changing requirements and execute regression validation.
  • Create requirements traceability matrices to demonstrate comprehensive test coverage.
  • Follow internal software development, cybersecurity, and validation procedures compliant with medical and security regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Mentor and train junior engineers.

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years in software development or software test development.
  • 4+ years programming with OOP languages such as Java and Python, with experience in Ruby a plus.
  • Proven software testing and quality assurance experience.
  • Knowledge of source control, such as Git.
  • Knowledge of Android and/or iOS devices, including debugging, installation, and configuration.
  • Knowledge of API-based testing for server communications.
  • Familiarity with network debugging tools such as Charles Proxy.
  • Strong oral communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong written skills to follow procedures and generate required documentation.
  • Plus: experience in the medical device industry.
  • Plus: knowledge of Xcode and Android Studio/ADB.
  • Disqualifier: no experience in Python and Java.
