Role and Responsibilities:

  • Requirements gathering: The data migration developer must work with stakeholders to understand the requirements of the data migration project, including the data that needs to be migrated, the format of the data, and the desired outcome.
  • Data mapping: The developer must create a data map that outlines the relationships between the data in the source and target systems and defines how the data will be transformed and migrated from one system to the other.
  • Data extraction: The developer must extract the data from the source system and prepare it for migration to the target system. This may involve cleaning and transforming the data, as well as handling any data conflicts.
  • Data loading: The developer must load the data into the target system and ensure that the data is properly formatted and integrated with the target system.
