Senior QA Engineer (Manual / Automation, AI-Augmented)

Location: 100% Remote
Employment Type: Contract-to-Perm (conversion after approximately 6 months)

Our client in the healthcare industry is seeking a Senior QA Engineer with strong experience in both manual testing and test automation, along with the ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate quality engineering workflows.

This is a highly hands-on role focused on ensuring the quality and reliability of database-driven systems, data pipelines, and integrations, with a particular emphasis on Oracle PL/SQL environments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with data structures, database logic, and integration pipelines, while utilizing modern AI-enabled tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or similar platforms to rapidly develop and maintain test coverage and debugging workflows.

This position requires someone who can operate effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment, collaborate closely with development teams, and contribute to both manual validation and automated test coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute manual and automated testing strategies for database-driven applications and data pipelines.

• Develop and maintain test cases and automation scripts for Oracle PL/SQL data structures and pipelines.

• Validate data transformations, integrations, and database logic to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

• Utilize AI-assisted tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, or similar) to accelerate test creation, debugging, and test maintenance.

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and rapid development cycles.

• Perform root cause analysis and debugging for defects within database, pipeline, and integration layers.

• Collaborate closely with software engineers and data engineers to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.

• Support regression testing, integration testing, and system validation for complex data workflows.

• Contribute to improving QA processes, automation coverage, and testing efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience as a QA Engineer performing both manual testing and test automation.

• Hands-on experience testing Oracle databases and PL/SQL logic.

• Experience validating data pipelines, integrations, and database-driven applications.

• Experience building or maintaining automated test frameworks.

• Familiarity with CI/CD environments and automated test integration.

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in data-heavy environments.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing enterprise data platforms or analytics environments.

• Exposure to API and integration testing.

• Experience working with data engineering pipelines or ETL processes.

• Background working in environments adopting AI-assisted development practices.
