Summary: Our client is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to join a small, fast-moving team to accelerate automated quality coverage for the Data Portal. This person will work independently as the sole SQE to set-up frameworks and deliver results with minimal guidance, taking full ownership of quality engineering while standardizing automation frameworks using the team's existing tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain automated regression suites for Web UI and REST APIs.
- Stand-up GitLab CI-integrated test pipelines for fast, reliable feedback (hard requirement).
- Integrate test coverage with third-party BI platforms including embedded flows, permissions, and performance checks (hard requirement).
- Manually test changes until automation coverage is mature.
- Author living documentation and champion shift-left practices.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years as an SDET/SQE with automation experience using Java/Selenium.
- Comfortable working as the sole SQE on a team, taking full ownership of quality engineering.
- Hands-on experience using GitLab CI for test orchestration and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience integrating tests with third-party BI platforms (embedding, auth/SSO, data validation).
