Summary: The Sr. Project/Program Manager role involves leading project initiatives for a nationally recognized health insurance company, focusing on improving healthcare efficiency and outcomes. The position requires strong project management skills, including planning, resource negotiation, and compliance monitoring. Candidates must have significant experience in project management and be able to work remotely while residing in specific states. The role is contract-to-hire, emphasizing the importance of meeting corporate priorities and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops project plans and recommendations in support of Departmental/Company objectives and leads implementation; tracks and reports on the status of the project.
  • Negotiates for resources to staff projects effectively with appropriate skill sets, aligning skills to the needs of the project.
  • Coordinates development and implementation of policies and procedures as well as development of compliance measurements.
  • Represents client in meetings with external parties including consultants, vendors, and others.
  • Assists with analysis and development of business processes to ensure quality, cost effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develops escalation process to channel issues and concerns to appropriate parties.
  • Evaluates project risks, developing contingency plans and responding to change in risk as the project progresses.
  • Develops effective business process improvement initiatives and communication plans.
  • Performs analytic functions and coaches others in analytical production.
  • Proposes solutions to business issues/problems utilizing appropriate analysis tools.
  • Documents and presents project management results through the development of criteria, issue analysis papers, and reports.
  • Develops and tracks budgets, operating plans, and financial cost forecasts to support project objectives.
  • Provides indirect reports with well-defined expectations, ongoing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and/or training.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field, or 7+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Ability to negotiate resources and manage project staffing effectively.
  • Experience in compliance monitoring and policy implementation.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating project risks and developing contingency plans.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in budget development and financial forecasting.
