Summary: The PeopleSoft Database Administrator role involves providing advanced administration for PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2, utilizing PeopleTools 8.61 and SQL Server 2022. The consultant will ensure the performance, stability, and scalability of the PeopleTools environments while performing various database administration functions. This position is remote but requires the consultant to be located in the USA. The engagement is expected to last for over four months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, configure, and support PeopleSoft environments (Campus Solutions 9.2 / PeopleTools 8.61) across development, test, and production tiers.
  • Perform Change Assistant activities for applying PeopleTools patches and PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) image updates.
  • Conduct project migrations using App Designer, manage Data Mover scripts (DMS), compare reports, and perform object merges across environments, preferably with PHIRE.
  • Partner with developers and functional teams to support performance tuning and resolve issues in PeopleSoft components, App Engines, and integrations.
  • Monitor and maintain SQL Server 2022 databases, performing tuning, patching, backups, and high-availability configurations in support of PeopleSoft.
  • Document system architecture, deployment steps, backup/recovery procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in proactive capacity planning and monitoring for PeopleSoft and SQL Server environments.

Key Skills:

  • Experience with PeopleTools (v8.58 or higher; 8.61 preferred) and Campus Solutions 9.2.
  • Experience supporting complex PeopleSoft environments, preferably in higher education.
  • Knowledge of Change Assistant, PUM image updates, and PeopleSoft environment refreshes.
  • Proficiency in MS SQL Server 2022 administration, tuning, and security practices.
  • Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, batch scripting, SQL).
  • Ability to create clear process documentation and work effectively in cross-functional environments.

Our client is seeking an experienced consultant to join our PeopleSoft team. This short-term engagement focuses on providing advanced PeopleTools administration in support of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2, running on PeopleTools 8.61 and SQL Server 2022, hosted on Windows Server 2022.


About the Role:
This role supports the PeopleSoft application infrastructure to ensure performance, stability, and scalability of our PeopleTools environments. The consultant will bring deep PeopleTools technical expertise and perform MS SQL Server database administration functions. Responsibilities include patching, environment refreshes, DMS execution, project migrations, and addressing performance or integration issues across environments.
