Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join the Database Services team supporting enterprise-scale database environments across on-premises data centers and cloud platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on DBA with deep expertise in MySQL production environments, replication, high availability, performance tuning, and DevOps automation.

The successful candidate will help maintain highly available database platforms, support mission-critical production systems, implement automation, improve database observability, and contribute to cloud database initiatives across Azure and AWS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support MySQL production and development database environments.
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly available database infrastructures.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot MySQL replication environments.
  • Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Implement backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.
  • Perform MySQL patching, upgrades, and version migrations.
  • Support cloud-hosted databases including Azure and AWS managed database services.
  • Automate database administration tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps tools.
  • Monitor database health using enterprise observability platforms.
  • Troubleshoot production database issues while ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and infrastructure teams on new database projects.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical production database incidents.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, standardization, and proactive monitoring.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–7+ years of professional Database Administration experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on MySQL DBA experience supporting production environments.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
