Summary: The role of Senior Mainframe System Automation / Netview Administration involves administering IBM System Automation, NetView, and NetOps within a GDPS environment for a billion-dollar managed services firm. This position is focused on enhancing automation design and performance across multiple platforms, requiring strong administrative experience rather than programming skills. The candidate will work within a team dedicated to integrating automation solutions and architectural design. The role is 100% remote and is expected to last for over 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administering NetView, IBM System Automation, and NetOps in a GDPS environment.
- Accelerating the design and performance of automation and integration into platforms.
- Architectural design of multiple platforms including Automation Point, OPS/MVS, zOSMF, Zowe, and Ansible.
- Writing and documenting code as part of software development.
- Utilizing code hosting platforms for version control and source code management.
- Managing software development issues and Agile project management tools.
- Handling software packaging and distribution.
- Delivering IT services through IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT operations management (ITOM).
- Applying ITIL framework principles and DevOps methodologies.
Key Skills:
- Experience with IBM System Automation of z/OS, NetView, and NetOps.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, REXX, and Assembler.
- Knowledge of Ansible Framework and Playbooks.
- Experience with version control and source code management tools like GitHub.
- Familiarity with Agile project management tools such as Jira or Bugzilla.
- Understanding of mainframe operating systems and their sub-components (z/OS, MVS).
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT operations management (ITOM).
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework and DevOps principles.

This is not a Programmer role. Need Admin experience with SA (IBM System automation of z/OS), NetView and NetOps
As part of Mainframe Automation team, this position will be part of a team focused on accelerating the design and performance of our development of automation, integration into platforms (Envision X, AIR, Sidekick), and architectural design of multiple platforms: Automation Point, OPS/MVS, zOSMF, Zowe, Ansible and Ansible Readiness.

The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is ($55-65). Actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
