Role Overview
Lead the Extraction Pod responsible for analyzing and reverse-engineering legacy T-SQL codebases using Sonata's Frontier RE pipeline.
Drive business rule extraction, generate traceable rule narratives, and deliver validated functional specifications to support application modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Extraction Pod in analyzing approximately 50K lines of legacy T-SQL code, including stored procedures, triggers, DDL scripts, and views.
- Build and analyze Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs) and dependency graphs to identify complex code patterns, including dynamic SQL, cursors, temporary tables, and other migration challenges.
- Author Gherkin/BDD scenarios and functional specifications based on extracted business rules.
- Identify rule conflicts, ambiguities, and gaps, and facilitate Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) reviews with SMEs, business analysts, and solution architects.
Required Skills & Experience
- Around 10 years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years as a Tech Lead.
- Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) with experience in static code analysis, AST generation, and parser/tool development.
- Strong experience in authoring Gherkin/BDD specifications, BRDs, PRDs, and functional/technical documentation
- Hands-on experience with LLM-assisted extraction tools (e.g., Azure OpenAI, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted
