Summary: The Sr Data Center Facilities Network Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining networked facility systems in a remote capacity. This role involves optimizing data center infrastructure, integrating DCIM platforms, and ensuring reliable communication between building management systems and core infrastructure. The engineer will also develop monitoring systems and maintain documentation related to facilities equipment and network infrastructure. A strong background in data center engineering and networking is essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain networked facility systems including power monitoring (UPS, PDUs, switchgear), HVAC, and environmental sensors.
  • Configure and operate advanced data center network topologies, including VXLAN-based overlays and spine/leaf architectures.
  • Lead the integration and continuous optimization of DCIM platforms (e.g., Sunbird, StruxureWare, Nlyte) to visualize and manage power, cooling, and physical space.
  • Implement and maintain zero-touch provisioning (ZTP) workflows for scalable and repeatable infrastructure deployments.
  • Deploy and support Cronus for infrastructure lifecycle management, telemetry, and operational consistency.
  • Develop and maintain alerting and monitoring systems to track the health of both facilities equipment and associated network infrastructure using SNMP, Syslog, and APIs.
  • Partner with facilities, IT, and network engineering teams to ensure reliable, secure communication between building management systems (BMS/BAS) and core infrastructure.
  • Support power audits, capacity planning, and environmental assessments through automated data collection and reporting.
  • Participate in commissioning, integration, and acceptance testing of new data center builds and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, network diagrams, provisioning scripts, and system inventories.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in data center facilities engineering and/or network engineering roles.
  • Strong understanding of power systems (UPS, PDU, ATS, RPP, switchgear) and environmental systems.
  • Deep experience with DCIM systems and associated data ingestion and reporting tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of data center networking, including VXLAN overlays, spine/leaf architecture, and ZTP (Zero Touch Provisioning).
  • Proficiency with network monitoring protocols (SNMP, Syslog) and automation (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  • Understanding of VLANs, BGP/EVPN, LACP, and overlay-underlay models.
