Summary: The Sr. Data Architect role is focused on designing and implementing end-to-end data integration solutions using modern cloud technologies, particularly AWS and Snowflake. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to translate business needs into effective data architectures. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in data engineering and a deep understanding of data integration patterns. This is a long-term, fully remote position with a maximum rate of $50 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data integration solutions leveraging AWS, Snowflake, and other modern platforms.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and developers to understand product requirements and translate them into effective data integration designs.
- Analyze business processes to identify and implement optimal data integration patterns (batch, streaming, event-driven, API-based, etc.).
- Architect and optimize data pipelines and storage solutions using AWS services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, etc.), Snowflake, and DBT.
- Work closely with engineering teams, data analysts, and business users to ensure data solutions are fit-for-purpose and meet compliance/security standards.
- Integrate data solutions with business productivity tools such as Power Apps and SharePoint for seamless data access and process automation.
- Document architecture, data flows, and integration processes. Advocate and enforce best practices in data management, governance, and version control (using Github).
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering/architecture roles.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and building data integration solutions in enterprise environments.
- Experience integrating data solutions with Power Apps and SharePoint.
- Proficiency in version control using Github and managing collaborative development environments.
- Deep understanding of data integration patterns (ETL/ELT, API, streaming, etc.).
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and data governance best practices.
- Experience with data cataloging, data lineage, and metadata management.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) is a plus.
