We are looking for a hands-on, highly skilled Azure Platform Engineer to lead the standardization, governance, and automation of our multi-tenant cloud sandbox infrastructure.
Our organization operates a large-scale fleet of identical sandbox environments utilized by both internal employees and external partners.
We are seeking an automation-first engineer who can architect and implement robust solutions for mass configuration management, continuous patching compliance, telemetry/monitoring, and dynamic provisioning/deprovisioning at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Standardize and maintain a large fleet of isolated sandbox environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools to ensure drift prevention and uniformity.
- Design, build, and deploy automated, self-service dynamic provisioning pipelines for users and partners, optimizing resource utilization and automated lifecycle cleanup.
- Implement enterprise-grade patch management frameworks to gain end-to-end visibility into patch status, compliance reporting, and automated scheduling across all environments.
- Establish unified logging, monitoring, and alerting (via Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights) to track infrastructure health, performance, and security posture.
- Enforce security baselines, role-based access control (RBAC), and compliance policies tailored to internal and external user segments.
- Act as the technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, performance bottlenecks, and provisioning failures within the cloud ecosystem.
Required Qualification & Hands-On Experiences:
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, with a strong, dedicated focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Proven hands-on experience managing large-scale cloud environments (managing hundreds to thousands of discrete resources or environments simultaneously).
- Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced hands-on skills in Terraform or Bicep/ARM templates for automated deployments and state management.
- Demonstrated experience in Configuration & Patch Management: Hands-on implementation of Azure Update Manager, Azure Automation State Configuration, or Desired State Configuration (DSC) at scale.
- Automation & Scripting: Strong proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python for building custom automation scripts and orchestration workflows.
- Monitoring & Observability: Hands-on configuration of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics workspaces, and custom alert rules for tracking infrastructure compliance and telemetry.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Experience integrating infrastructure deployments and patch pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Preferred Qualification:
- 5+ years in Cloud Platform Engineering
- Experience managing multi-tenant environments shared between internal employees and external third-party partners.
- Knowledge of zero-trust architecture, Azure Policy, and governance at scale (Management Groups).
- Strong documentation and cross-functional collaboration skills to enable self-service workflows for non-technical stakeholders.
