Summary: This role is for a SQL Developer specializing in property and casualty (P&C) insurance, focusing on developing and optimizing SQL queries for keyword search functionality within the Gridspace platform. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, experience in the insurance sector, and a background in quality management. The position is remote and offers a multi-year contract for the right fit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and execute SQL queries based on predetermined criteria.
- Test the handling of various keyword combinations, including synonyms, stemming, and misspellings.
- Craft test cases to verify the correctness of SQL queries used for data retrieval, transformation, and reporting.
- Analyze testing data to identify areas for refinement.
- Document results consistently and maintain a working history of previously obtained data.
- Ensure SQL queries adhere to coding standards and best practices.
- Develop Gridspace queries and create test cases to assess the accuracy and relevance.
- Evaluate the performance of keyword searches utilizing various parameters.
- Document test results and report platform defects in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve search-related issues.
- Ability to work closely with developers, data scientists, and quality management advisors to understand requirements and provide feedback.
- In-depth understanding of quality standards and their application in a data-driven environment.
- Ability to interpret and apply Knowledge Central (KC) error criteria to real-world scenarios.
- Knowledge of key-word search strategies and their application.
