SQL Specialist

Summary: The SQL Specialist role focuses on performing mainframe data migration for clients, specifically transforming various database formats to the Microsoft SQL Server Platform. The position requires a candidate with extensive experience in using SQL Server Migration Assistant and Azure Data Factory, along with a strong understanding of database administration and migration processes. The ideal candidate should be proactive, capable of taking ownership of projects, and possess the necessary security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform mainframe data migration to Microsoft SQL Server Platform.
• Transform DB2, IDMS, VSAM, and flat-files to Azure SQLMI.
• Utilize SQL Server Migration Assistant and Azure Data Factory for migrations.
• Troubleshoot data conversion issues between mainframe databases and Azure SQLMI.
• Manage complex migrations to the Azure Platform.
• Ensure database administration and scripting in SQL and Python are performed effectively.

Key Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with Azure Platform Systems & SQLMI.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SSMA & Azure Factory Tools for DB2 migration.
• Experience with IDMS database systems migration to Azure SQLMI.
• Knowledge of scripting in SQL and Python.
