Job Title: SQL Server Infrastructure Engineer / Architect

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Infrastructure Architect to join one of our consultancy clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SQL Server architecture, including planning and executing migrations to new hardware, and designing enterprise-class clustered SQL Server infrastructures.

The role involves working closely with an end client to gather requirements, ensuring successful migration planning, and leveraging expertise in SQL Server 2016 and newer versions. A strong understanding of VMware hosting for SQL Server environments is also essential.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Design and implement SQL Server infrastructure solutions, including migration planning to new hardware.

• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and ensure smooth migration processes.

• Provide expertise in SQL Server 2016 and newer versions, including setup, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

• Design and plan enterprise-class clustered SQL Server infrastructures.

• Utilise VMware for hosting SQL Server instances and ensure performance optimisation.

• Develop and execute migration plans that minimise downtime and ensure data integrity.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Expertise in SQL Server 2016 Infrastructure Architecture.

• Experience planning and executing SQL Server migrations to new hardware.

• Strong client-facing experience for requirements gathering and migration planning.

• Extensive experience with SQL Server 2016 and newer versions.

• Experience in designing and planning Enterprise Class Clustered SQL Server Infrastructure.

• Knowledge of VMware for hosting SQL Server.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience in Data Architecture.

• Understanding of Data Governance and SDLC best practices.

• Experience with Data Integration planning and design.
