Summary: The Senior SQL Server DBA is tasked with managing and optimizing the performance of database systems, ensuring business continuity through effective administration and support. This role involves daily management, troubleshooting, and implementing changes within the database environment. The DBA will also monitor performance and provide recommendations for improvements while serving as a resource for audit and security needs. The position requires strong technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with business users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides day-to-day management and implementation of Enlyte's database environment including administration, backup and recovery activities, and change control.
  • Processes service tickets; troubleshoots system issues, resolves database related incidents and completes maintenance requests.
  • Configures, tests, installs, and migrates new instances and databases in lab and production environments.
  • Monitors and analyzes performance including capacity planning, system checks and audits; makes recommendations for improvements and completes requests for additional resources and support as needed.
  • Serves as a resource for the audit and security departments when needed.

  • Solid understanding of database administration, management, and related files and data to production events and outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft database replication technologies.
  • Strong technology and troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of a broad range of related software such as Microsoft SQL Server, Powershell, AWS (EC2, IaC, SSM) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to effectively identify and translate business user needs, and to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

  • 5 or more years administrating or supporting database systems with coding experience
