Summary: The SQL Azure DevOps Engineer role involves enhancing database operations within a dynamic IT services organization focused on cloud infrastructure transformation and legacy SQL system upgrades. The position requires expertise in automating SQL environments on Azure, performing data migrations, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure high availability and performance. This is a fixed-term contract for six months, offering a flexible and remote working arrangement. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Automate the build and upgrade of MS SQL environments (IaaS and PaaS) on our Azure platform.
• Perform data migration activities to ensure a smooth transition to new infrastructure.
• Configure SQL environments for replication, high availability, and backup.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in Infosec, Strategy, and Architecture to meet their standards.
• Provide guidance on SQL Best Practises to enhance database performance.
• Partner with our Cloud Engineering and DevOps teams to document processes thoroughly.
• Implement performance and reliability monitoring for SQL Services.

Key Skills:

• DBA experience with a proven track record.
• Experience in Azure Cloud Computing.
• Expert SQL skills with extensive knowledge of transactional databases.
• Proficient in configuration management tools like Bicep and Puppet.
• Experienced in Scripting languages such as Powershell, SQL, or Python.
• Familiarity with continuous integration systems.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
