Summary: The SQA Automation Engineer role focuses on creating and automating test cases within the Dental Insurance Industry. The position requires strong expertise in automation testing tools such as Playwright and Selenium, along with API testing and CI/CD integration. The engineer will collaborate with development teams to ensure software reliability through comprehensive testing strategies. This is a 5-month renewable contract that does not accommodate work permit sponsorships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform testing on an agile team
  • Work with the Development Team to develop and document test plans and test cases
  • Review all documentation provided by the project teams and ensure full understanding of the documented requirements, technical enhancements, process development and workflow configuration required
  • Create and execute test scripts using manual and automated testing as specified by DQ standards
  • Document, communicate, and work to resolve all defects found during testing
  • Seek team and stakeholder feedback on all test plans and test cases
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and research application/system issues as required and propose solutions to problems; provide resolution in a timely and accurate way, while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Ensure defects are entered within the DentaQuest Enterprise Defect Tracking System with an appropriate sense of urgency and monitor/track progress through resolution
  • Participate in all required meetings to gain additional requirement knowledge, confirm current state of project and stay apprised of any changes being made
  • Create reusable test plans and test case templates and processes as needed
  • Develop, execute, validate and document thorough and accurate regression and smoke test scenarios
  • Prepare documentation using tools such as Visio, Word and Excel
  • Participate in the testing of enterprise software upgrade initiatives
  • Take the primary testing role on projects that may be waterfall in nature
  • Present findings to IT stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

Candidates must have Dental Insurance Industry experience

MOST IMPORTANT SKILLS: Dental Insurance Industry experience, Strong automation testing expertise using Playwright and Selenium, with hands-on experience in API testing (Postman), CI/CD integration, and end-to-end test planning.

1. What s the major objective(s) of the role? Being able to create use cases and convert them into test cases. They should be able to convert these into automation test cases. They should be able to automate functional, regression, and performance tests to ensure software reliability.

The Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Analyst I supports operational goals and objectives by working closely with software developers, SQA peers, and business stakeholders to review use cases and develop and execute test plans, and test cases to ensure application development meets or exceeds business requirements.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Requirements:

BS degree or equivalent work experience or training in IT, Computer Science or related field

Experience using automation tools

5 years of experience in IT discipline with demonstrated progressive levels of responsibility.

2 years experience in Software Quality Assurance and proficiency with general office productivity software

Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral and written communication skills

Excellent analytical skills, as well as accuracy and attention to details

Proven quality assurance analysis skills.

Business 'subject matter expert' (SME) experience may qualify as equivalent experience.

Understanding of IT environments and architecture

Ability to work with a minimal amount of supervision Required to attend additional training as requested/deemed necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified as a Software Test Engineer (CSTE) or Quality Analyst (CQA)

Working knowledge of Selenium with C# Working knowledge of Specflow

Working knowledge of Microsoft Test Manager

Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server
