Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle the organization's end-to-end sourcing operations by implementing sourcing plans and tactics for assigned commodities.
  • Appraise and improve sourcing activities by analyzing spending, supply partnerships, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals and budget targets.
  • Perform data collection and conduct spend analysis at various organizational levels.
  • Conduct market research to identify new technologies and sourcing trends.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Oversee the RFx process and lead sourcing events.
  • Negotiate contracts that support sourcing strategies and minimize risks.
  • Identify and vet preferred supplier capabilities and financial stability.
  • Develop good working relationships with the end-user community and act as an internal consultant.

Job Description

  • The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for handling the organization''s end to end sourcing operations by implementing sourcing plans and tactics to effectively manage assigned commodities.
  • Responsibilities include the ability to appraise and improve organization sourcing activities by analyzing the company''s spending, supply partnerships and identifying new opportunities to improve cost savings.

Duties
Sourcing Strategy and Development:

  • Develop sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals/objectives, budget targets and operational requirements to minimize the organizational risk. Strategies should be developed using spend analysis data, stakeholder input and knowledge of the supplier community.
  • Perform data collection and conduct spend analysis at the organizational level, divisional level, commodity level and supplier level to identify opportunities and cross-over of common items purchased.
  • Conduct Market Research to identify new technologies, identify sourcing/supplier trends.
  • Complete robust spend analytics to mine opportunities.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.

Sourcing Management:

  • Oversee the RFx process and provide the leadership role in sourcing events to be executed.
  • Negotiate contracts that support the sourcing strategies, collaborating with key stakeholders and departments.
  • Negotiate and develop contract terms and conditions that minimize risks to the client and are consistent with the service level expectations of the internal client and the statement of work defined for the competitive bid process.
  • Develop and route the contract cover sheet.
  • Identify and vet preferred supplier capabilities, financial stability and standing in the market.
  • Identify optimal method(s) of supplier selection when identifying new opportunities or product pricing.
  • Manage cross-organizational integrative activities with suppliers and the rest of the organization.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Develop good working relationships with the end-user community by establishing ongoing, consistent meetings to gather ongoing spend requirements that will enable the departments to manage business operations.
  • Act as internal consultant, facilitator, and problem solver.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Understand the supplier business regarding existing product line, and research and development of future technology with potential impact to contract terms and pricing.
  • Gather information on supplier performance in order to provide input into the strategic sourcing process for future sourcing events.

Professional Development:

  • Develop annual individual development plan to gain additional knowledge in areas of healthcare Industry, changes in the industry and procurement functions.

Skills:
Required Skills & Experience:

  • Four (4)-seven (7) years of sourcing experience.
  • Demonstrated project management skills required including identifying project deliverables and developing critical milestones to meet project goals.
  • Negotiation of contracts.
  • Creating and developing relationships and leading projects and sourcing events.
  • Leading meetings with Suppliers and Customers to keep project goals and objectives on track.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in Healthcare.

Education
Required Education:

  • Bachelor''s Degree in any Business or Finance discipline.

Preferred Education:

  • Master''s Degree in Business/Finance or emphasis in Supply Chain Management.
