Summary: We are looking for a Solutions Architect with strong development experience in a Financial Application Environment, focusing on modernizing and documenting financial applications. The role combines Solution Architecture with hands-on development, including reverse-engineering legacy systems and transitioning applications to the cloud. The ideal candidate will also mentor junior developers and work closely with a team to enhance existing applications. This position is remote with a preference for candidates in EST hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reverse Engineer & Document: Analyze and document existing finance applications (approx. 20 homegrown apps) and architecture.
- Development & Modernization: Hands-on coding in C#.NET (primary) and (secondary) to understand and modernize legacy codebases.
- Cloud Migration: Support efforts to move applications to the cloud.
- Data Integration & ETL: Work with ADF pipelines, ETL processes, and understand data movement principles.
- Excel Macro Translation: Reverse-engineer Excel macros to gather requirements and recommend future-state solutions.
- Financial Systems Knowledge: Understand SAP GL integrations and prepare for upcoming replacement and enterprise data warehouse initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with 3 developers and mentor junior team members on architecture modernization.
- Reporting & Analytics: Exposure to Power BI, DAX, SQL, and optionally Python for analytics and reporting.
- Architecture Documentation: Create Solution Architecture documentation for HR and internal stakeholders.
Key Skills:

- Understanding of financial systems, journal entries, and FP&A processes (preferred).

Pay: $80 - $100/hr W2
