Summary: The role of a Contract Solution Architect involves supporting the Enterprise Applications function of a global company by providing technical and functional guidance on application architecture. The architect will work closely with the Lead Enterprise Architect and Product Managers to ensure that solution designs align with the enterprise applications strategy. This position requires extensive experience in designing complex solution architectures and working within a SCRUM team. The role is remote and classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Lead Enterprise Architect and Product Managers to understand implications of proposed solution designs.
- Support the Enterprise Applications function in defining and maintaining the solution architecture and applications roadmap.
- Ensure current architecture is defined and maintained to agreed standards.
- Document solution artifacts including solution plans and harvest architectural patterns for reuse.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology innovations that inform technical direction.
- Communicate proposed Solution Architecture options and designs to the relevant design authority.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, e.g., TOGAF, Gartner.
- Extensive experience in designing complex solution architecture from concept to build.
- Ability to promote reuse and consistency through architectural patterns.
- Experience working as part of a SCRUM team.
- Experience in establishing application architecture standards.

I am urgently looking to recruit a contract Solution Architect for a global company. This role supports the Enterprise Applications function to ensure that the strategy and roadmaps are communicated and applied across the business and appropriate third parties, by providing direction and guidance on all technical and functional aspects of, and modifications to the application architecture. The client has multiple ongoing projects, and you will be part of a large team working on two projects simultaneously.
Essential Skills & Experience required:
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, eg, TOGAF, Gartner.
- Extensive experience in designing complex solution architecture from concept to ready to build across multiple technologies.
- Ability to harvest architectural patterns in order to promote reuse and consistency.
- Experience of working as part of a SCRUM team, supporting design sessions and technical delivery leads in producing solution plans.
- Experience in establishing application architecture standards.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Lead Enterprise Architect and Product Managers to understand implications of the proposed solution design on the enterprise applications strategy and landscape.
- Support Enterprise Applications function in defining and maintaining the solution architecture and applications roadmap.
- Ensure current architecture is defined and maintained to agreed standards, supporting and adhering to defined architectural principles.
