Solutions Architect (Cloud Migration) - CONTRACT

Summary: The role of Solution Architect focuses on leading cloud migration efforts to Azure within the Defence sector, particularly in the context of a Data Centre Exit Programme. The position requires rapid assessment, planning, and execution of cloud-first strategies for critical systems and applications. Candidates will engage with stakeholders and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines. This contract role is expected to extend into 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, design, and migrate applications and systems to Microsoft Azure.
• Support business-as-usual (BAU) activities alongside a major Obsolescence & Data Centre Exit Programme.
• Lead discovery sessions and stakeholder workshops.
• Make quick and accurate decisions on treatment paths for applications.
• Reverse-engineer application/system architecture in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Deliver high-quality results under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience in Data Centre Exit & Obsolescence Programmes.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of cloud migration (Azure) and cloud architecture.
• Practical experience applying the 7R’s approach to application migration.
• Ability to lead discovery sessions and stakeholder workshops confidently.
• Strong mix of Infrastructure, Application, and Security knowledge.
• High tempo delivery under pressure and to tight deadlines.
