Summary: The Solution Engineer role involves supporting OSI-Monarch's Power System Applications and troubleshooting the operational SCADA environment. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience and includes responsibilities such as software development, installation, and collaboration with various teams. The role is primarily remote but can also be based in Columbus, Ohio. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support OSI-Monarch's Power System Applications, including Automatic Generation Control (AGC)
- Supports and troubleshoots the operational SCADA environment, as well as ensuring optimized monitoring and system reliability reporting
- Maintains Monarch custom DB configurations
- Able to provide on rotation, after-hours (24 x 7) on-call support
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in supporting the OSI Monarch SCADA systems
- Understanding of NERC CIP security principles
- Understanding of WAN and VPN concepts
- Basic understanding of the C programming language
- Knowledge of Communication Protocols (DNP3, Modbus, ICCP)
- An understanding of Ladder Logic is desired
- Part of a larger team delivering high-quality technology solutions to the business
- Design, develop and install software solutions
- Support and/or install software applications
- Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
- Works within a Waterfall or Agile methodology/framework based team
- Collaborates heavily with Project Management, Business Analyst and Infrastructure Job Families
- Develops advanced solutions to resolve customer and prospective customer issues
- Align the client's goals, needs and objectives to the solutions
- Communicate issues and status in a clear, timely manner
- Interpret specifications and build advanced solutions to those specifications
- Collaborate on the business strategy by acting as an expert of the company's services and products
- Develop custom presentations and demonstrations for all audiences
- Generates infrastructure support documentation
- Make proposals and write request for proposal (RFP) responses
- Evaluate and propose advanced process improvements
- Maintain expert knowledge about the company's software/hardware products
- May provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team
Key Skills:

- Design, develop and install software solutions. Build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with internal architecture, development & design standards & best practices. Design, modify, develop, write, implement and troubleshoot software programming applications.
- Support and/or install software applications.
