Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the migration and modernisation of monolithic / legacy systems into Golang
- Improving delivery flow, including review cycles, merge efficiency, and release processes
- Introducing and reinforcing modern engineering practices (testing, CI/CD, code quality standards)
- Identifying and removing bottlenecks across the software delivery lifecycle
- Coaching engineers to adopt stronger day-to-day execution discipline and technical judgement

We are currently partnering with a growing technology consultancy that is supporting a well-known UK brand on a large-scale engineering transformation programme. As part of this engagement, they are looking to bring in a number of high-calibre contract software engineers to play a key role in delivering meaningful change across their engineering function. This is a high-impact opportunity to work on a complex transformation, combining modern backend engineering (Golang) with the adoption of AI-enabled development practices.
The Role
You will be embedded within a team that requires support transitioning from legacy practices and low delivery velocity into a more modern, high-performing engineering environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the migration and modernisation of monolithic / legacy systems into Golang
