Summary: This role is for a Software Engineer with expertise in ITSO systems, focusing on the development and support of critical transport technology platforms used across the UK. The position involves enhancing transaction processing systems and collaborating with internal teams and clients to improve platform performance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and support Transport Club HOPS, Fulfilment and Actora platforms.
  • Deliver software enhancements across the full lifecycle from design through deployment.
  • Support DevOps delivery pipelines and assist with escalations from the Transport Club Service Desk.
  • Work closely with internal teams and third party clients to support platform usage and improvement.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements to engineering practices, tooling and platform performance.
  • Participate in Agile delivery cycles including sprint planning, development and release.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience in Java enterprise development.
  • Knowledge of ITSO transport systems or standards is essential.
  • Experience working with relational database technologies.
  • Experience developing large scale enterprise applications.
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices.
  • Experience with automated software testing frameworks.
  • Experience working with DevOps integration and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience working within Agile Scrum delivery teams.

Software Engineer - ITSO SME - Remote

An opportunity is available for a skilled Software Engineer who is an ITSO SME to support critical transport technology systems used across the UK. This role sits within the ITSO Back Office value stream and focuses on the development, support and continuous improvement of core transaction processing platforms used by transport operators nationwide.

You will contribute to the development and support of the Transport Club HOPS, Fulfilment and Actora product suites along with associated services and shared libraries. These platforms handle journey transaction processing and message routing that underpin national transport services.
