Position Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer II with strong UX / Product Design experience to support an internal requirements-management platform used by systems engineers, architects, and Technical Program Managers (TPMs) working on XR hardware and software programs.

This role focuses on solving short, well-defined design problems in 1–2 week cycles, translating complex technical workflows into intuitive, scalable user experiences, and delivering development-ready design specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and improve user experiences for internal enterprise tooling and requirements-management platforms.
  • Redesign screens, workflows, and interaction patterns for:
  • Document creation
  • Requirements creation and editing
  • Dependency linking
  • Requirements coverage views
  • Data-dense tables
  • Graph and relationship views
  • Hierarchies and administrative interfaces
  • Conduct user interviews and gather feedback from technical users, including systems engineers, architects, and TPMs.
  • Translate complex technical requirements into clear and intuitive workflows.
  • Create high-fidelity designs and prototypes in Figma.
  • Develop reusable components, variants, and patterns within established design systems.
  • Produce detailed, developer-ready design specifications and interaction documentation.
  • Manage multiple concurrent design deliverables while working independently.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with engineers, product managers, technical stakeholders, and other designers.
  • Communicate design decisions, requirements, and trade-offs clearly through written documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional UX, Product Design, or closely related experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating shipped product/design work.
  • Experience designing data-dense enterprise applications, internal tools, or technical platforms.
  • Strong experience with interfaces involving:
  • Complex tables
  • Graphs and relationship visualizations
  • Hierarchies
  • Requirements or dependency management
  • Administrative surfaces
  • Advanced Figma skills, including:
  • Components
  • Variants
  • Design systems
  • Prototyping
  • Developer-ready specifications
  • Experience interviewing technical or specialized users.
  • Ability to independently drive design problems from discovery through final delivery.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple short-cycle deliverables.
  • Excellent written and asynchronous communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on engineering, developer, systems engineering, or technical enterprise products.
  • Experience with requirements-management, systems engineering, hardware/software development, or technical program management tools.
  • Familiarity with XR, hardware, software, or other highly technical product environments.
  • Experience designing workflows involving complex dependencies and interconnected data.
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams on implementation.

Work Style

  • Highly self-directed and comfortable working with limited day-to-day supervision.
  • Comfortable solving ambiguous design problems within 1–2 week delivery cycles.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to simplify complex technical workflows.
  • Comfortable working in a remote, asynchronous environment with teams operating on EST hours.
