Summary: The Software Engineer/DevOps Contractor role focuses on providing support for a global professional services organization through back-end software development, AWS cloud operations, and DevOps automation. This fully remote, part-time position requires a senior contractor who can work independently and deliver value quickly. Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining Back End services and APIs using Node.js and Python
- Working with Python frameworks such as Flask and/or FastAPI
- Supporting AWS infrastructure across EC2, RDS and Elastic Beanstalk
- Maintaining Docker/container environments and registry tooling
- Creating and maintaining Ansible playbooks for automation and configuration management
- Supporting Linux infrastructure, service management, patching and Shell Scripting
- Maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Bitbucket
- Supporting DevOps, cloud and automation projects
- Documenting systems and providing knowledge transfer during the contract
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on software engineering background
- Production experience with Node.js and Python

- Linux administration/Shell Scripting

This is a hands-on role covering Back End software development, AWS cloud operations, DevOps automation and CI/CD support. The client needs someone who can onboard quickly, work independently, and add value from week one.
The role is ideal for a senior contractor who enjoys varied technical work across Node.js, Python, AWS, Docker, Ansible, Linux, Jenkins and Bitbucket.
