  • • Migration Planning: Track, organize, and orchestrate concurrent client migrations across multiple developer teams without causing downtime or developer friction.
  • • Configuration Changes & Deployment: Author, test, and submit configuration changes utilizing internal Google release tooling (CDPush).
  • • Validation & Monitoring: Closely monitor health metrics, telemetry dashboards, and build logs during and after cutover to quickly identify anomalies, mitigate risks, and roll back changes if issues arise.
  • Phase 2: Client Codebase Migration & Deep Technical Refactoring
  • • Direct Codebase Refactoring: Directly update client codebases to migrate service requests and dependencies from OutputMetadataService to the new service.
  • • Build Configuration Modernization: Read, write, and refactor build rules and dependencies in Starlark across internal BUILD files.
  • • C++ Development: Implement, test, and submit production-quality changes in internal C++ libraries and client wrappers.
  • • End-to-End Testing: Ensure changes pass presubmit checks, integration test suites, and adhere to strict internal Google engineering and style standards.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

Technical Skills

o Proficiency in C++ (modern C++ standards, Google style guides, idioms).

o Working knowledge of Starlark (or strong experience with Bazel / Google BUILD systems).

• Google Tooling: Familiarity with the Google internal developer ecosystem, development workflows, and release automation systems (e.g., CDPush, Piper, Critique, internal monitoring suites).

• Systems & Infrastructure: Understanding of build systems, microservices, and client-server metadata services.

Project & Soft Skills

• Project Management & Organization: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple migrations in parallel while keeping client statuses and roadmaps structured and up to date.

• Technical Communication: Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interfacing with diverse engineering teams across Google.

• Reliability & Caution: Careful approach to production rollouts, change management, and rapid incident response.

Preferred Experience
