Our client seeks an experienced Software Developer in Test to focus on designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions across Angular user interfaces and Java/Spring Boot REST APIs to deliver a consistent experience and enable timely advisor decisions for managed account clients.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for web applications and REST APIs.
• Build automated UI testing for Angular applications using Playwright and Selenium.
• Develop and execute automated REST API tests for Java/Spring Boot services.
• Create and maintain reusable Java-based test automation frameworks.
• Author BDD-style automated tests using Cucumber and Gherkin.
• Develop test scenarios for functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and API testing.
• Validate data and application behavior across front-end and back-end components.
• Partner with developers to identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and improve quality.
• Analyze test failures and isolate causes across application, automation, environment, or data.
• Participate in requirements and design discussions to address testability and risks.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing.
• Maintain automation suites as functionality and APIs evolve.
• Identify improvements in coverage, efficiency, and testing processes.
• Document test results, defects, automation strategies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments.

Experience Requirements

• 8+ years in software development, testing, or SDET roles.
• Strong Java programming experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Playwright and Selenium/WebDriver.
• Proficiency with Cucumber and Gherkin for BDD automation.
• Strong experience with automated REST API testing.
• Background testing Spring Boot services and REST APIs.
• Experience testing modern web applications, preferably Angular.
• Knowledge of UI, API, integration, and end-to-end automation.
• Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming and software principles.
• Experience with Git and modern source control.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: enterprise or financial services experience.
• Preferred: platform integration testing.
• Preferred: CI/CD tools and automated test execution in pipelines.
• Preferred: Maven or Gradle.
• Preferred: SQL and database validation.
• Preferred: cloud-based development and testing environments.
• Preferred: familiarity with financial services, brokerage, wealth, or investment technology, and regulated environments.
