Summary: The role of Software Architect involves leading the design and development of secure and scalable backend systems using C#. The position requires mentoring a development team and managing cloud resources, while also ensuring efficient integration with front-end systems. This contract role is fully remote with occasional visits to Reading and is classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and build performant backend systems using C#, EF Core, SQL Server
  • Own API architecture with efficient integration to front-end
  • Lead technical planning, coach developers, and liaise with stakeholders
  • Manage cloud resources in Azure (VMs, Key Vaults) and Linux services

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years in backend development (C#, EF Core, REST APIs)
  • Strong database design and performance optimisation skills
  • GitHub, Azure admin, OpenXML familiarity
  • Great communicator with leadership mindset
  • Bonus if you know: React/Redux, CI/CD, JsonPatch

Salary (Rate): £600/day

C# Software Architect – Contract £600/day | 6 months rolling | Remote

We’re working with a leading player in the legal tech sector to find an experienced Software Architect with a strong C# backend development background. You’ll lead the design of secure, scalable systems, shape technical direction, and mentor a growing dev team.

What you'll do:

  • Architect and build performant backend systems using C#, EF Core, SQL Server
  • Own API architecture with efficient integration to front-end
  • Lead technical planning, coach developers, and liaise with stakeholders
  • Manage cloud resources in Azure (VMs, Key Vaults) and Linux services

What you bring:

  • 5+ years in backend dev (C#, EF Core, REST APIs)
  • Strong database design and performance optimisation skills
