Summary: The Snr Database Engineer role involves providing proactive database support and maintenance for critical production services, primarily using Oracle and SQL Server. The position requires expertise in database administration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization, along with collaboration with other teams to resolve operational issues. The contract is for six months and is classified as inside IR35, with a remote working arrangement. The role is set to start as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide effective database support and maintenance for critical production services.
• Administer database life cycle support including provisioning, deletion, patching, upgrading, and migrating.
• Manage back-up and recovery processes.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems.
• Oversee change and incident management.
• Troubleshoot and solve database-related problems.
• Optimize database performance through tuning and improvements.
• Ensure disaster recovery processes are in place and effective.
• Collaborate with other teams and escalate issues to Lead Database Engineers as necessary.

Key Skills:

• Strong understanding and experience in database administration for Oracle and SQL Server in a production environment.
• Analytical troubleshooting skills for production issues.
• Experience with database builds, patching, migrations, and upgrades.
• Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery methods.
• Database performance tuning and optimization skills.
• Experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
