Summary: We are looking for a Snowflake Architect with over 10 years of Data Engineering experience, including 5 years specifically in Snowflake architecture and implementation. This hands-on technical leadership role involves designing and optimizing scalable cloud data platforms while guiding engineering teams. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of data modeling, ELT/ETL pipelines, and modern data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing Snowflake data warehouse solutions.
  • Define enterprise data architecture, data models, and data governance standards.
  • Build and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines for large-scale data ingestion and transformation.
  • Architect end-to-end cloud-based data platforms.
  • Optimize Snowflake performance, storage, compute usage, and cost management.
  • Implement Snowflake features such as:
    • Virtual Warehouses
    • Data Sharing
    • Streams & Tasks
    • Dynamic Tables
    • Materialized Views
    • Snowpipe
    • Time Travel
    • Zero Copy Cloning
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQL.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and data consumers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Establish CI/CD and DevOps best practices for data platforms.
  • Mentor Data Engineers and provide technical leadership.
  • Ensure data quality, security, compliance, and governance standards are followed.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on Snowflake architecture and implementation experience.
  • Strong expertise in Snowflake performance tuning and optimization.
  • Deep understanding of Snowflake security, RBAC, masking policies, and governance.
  • Experience with Snowflake native capabilities and advanced features.
  • 10+ years of Data Engineering experience.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Expertise in data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Dimensional Modeling).
  • Experience building large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong experience in Python and SQL; Shell Scripting preferred.
  • Experience with data integration tools such as DBT, Apache Airflow, Informatica, Matillion, Talend, or Fivetran.
  • Preferred experience with DevOps tools like Git, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and Docker.
  • Snowflake certification preferred; Cloud certifications are a plus.
  • Experience working in Agile environments; strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
