Summary: The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role focuses on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of client platforms through the implementation of observability practices and continuous improvement strategies. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance cloud infrastructure and automate processes, while also leading initiatives that align with SRE principles. Candidates must possess SC clearance or be eligible for it and may need to provide out-of-hours support. This is a remote position for a duration of 3 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to measure and maintain system and application performance.
- Instrument applications to collect key metrics, logs, and traces for proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Create dashboards and configure alerts for real-time visibility into system health.
- Assess and enhance Kubernetes capabilities to improve DevOps efficiency.
- Modernise the developer experience focusing on culture, practices, processes, automation, and tooling.
- Architect scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure for containerised applications.
- Collaborate with teams to implement automation strategies that reduce operational complexity.
- Lead site reliability engineering initiatives with a focus on observability and reliability.
- Contribute to business development and internal initiatives.
- Engage in learning and development activities to support career growth.
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of SRE principles, SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Experience with observability tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of microservices and container orchestration.
- Experience with continuous delivery pipelines and automated deployment.
- Collaboration skills for effective teamwork and client engagement.
- Ability to work independently and in dynamic environments.
- SC clearance or eligibility to obtain it.
- Willingness to work out of hours or on-call as needed.
