Summary: The role of SIS Solution Architect involves leading the technical design and integration strategy for implementing a modern Student Information System (SIS) platform at a mid-sized higher education institution. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and document the overall technical architecture for the SIS implementation.
- Develop integration strategies with third-party systems like PowerFAIDS, Salesforce, Blackboard, etc.
- Define data migration approach from PowerCampus.
- Provision secure cloud infrastructure aligned with FERPA and GLBA.
- Collaborate with analysts and leads to ensure process alignment.
- Enforce zero-trust security, role-based access, MFA, and encryption.
- Oversee reporting and analytics architecture.
- Provide technical leadership during configuration and testing.
- Ensure compliance with Appendix A: Security Standards.
- Act as technical liaison for client and vendors.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8+ years in enterprise architecture; 3+ years in SIS platforms.
- Experience with PowerCampus migrations and platforms like Anthology or Jenzabar.
- Knowledge of higher education workflows.
- Expertise in REST APIs, SSO, MFA, encryption, cloud.
