Job Description
We are looking for an experienced ITAM SME with strong expertise in Software Asset Management (SAM) implementation. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving ITAM/SAM processes and ensuring effective management of software assets, licenses, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SAM/ITAM implementation projects from planning through deployment.
- Define and implement ITAM and SAM processes, policies, and best practices.
- Manage software licenses, contracts, entitlements, and compliance.
- Perform software license reconciliation and identify compliance risks.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into SAM solutions.
- Support software discovery, inventory, normalization, and reconciliation.
- Coordinate with procurement, IT, security, finance, and application teams.
- Prepare reports and dashboards related to software usage, licensing, and compliance.
- Support audits and vendor license reviews.
- Identify opportunities for software cost optimization and license rationalization.
- Provide SME guidance and support during implementation and post-go-live activities.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management / Software Asset Management.
- Strong experience in SAM implementation and process design.
- Knowledge of software licensing models and compliance.
- Experience with software discovery, inventory, entitlement management, and reconciliation.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow ITAM/SAM or other SAM tools.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working with major software vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe, etc. is preferred.
Nice to Have: ServiceNow SAM Professional, ITIL, or other ITAM/SAM certifications
