Job Title: ServiceNow Engineer (CMDB)

Summary

Our client is seeking a senior-level CMDB ServiceNow Consultant for a high-impact, short-term engagement focused on stabilizing and transforming an existing CMDB environment.

This role is ideal for a hands-on expert who can quickly assess current-state challenges, drive data quality improvements, and establish a scalable, reliable CMDB foundation.

You will partner closely with infrastructure, database, and application teams to clean up, normalize, and operationalize the CMDB, ensuring it becomes a trusted source of truth across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current CMDB, identifying gaps in data quality, structure, and governance
• Lead CMDB remediation efforts, including data cleanup, normalization, and reconciliation
• Design and implement robust CI relationships and data models to improve accuracy and usability
• Optimize and configure ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping for better visibility and automation
• Establish and enforce CMDB governance frameworks, standards, and best practices
• Collaborate cross-functionally with infrastructure, application, and database teams to align data sources and ownership
• Define and implement processes for ongoing CMDB maintenance, health, and data integrity
• Provide hands-on configuration and development within ServiceNow as needed
• Deliver clear documentation and actionable recommendations for long-term sustainability

Required Skills

• 10 15+ years of overall IT experience, with strong exposure to enterprise infrastructure and systems
• 4 6+ years of deep ServiceNow CMDB expertise, including architecture and implementation
• Proven experience with:
  • CMDB design, data modeling, and lifecycle management
  • ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping
  • Data reconciliation, normalization, and governance strategies
• Strong understanding of infrastructure components (servers, networks, databases, cloud environments)
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow platform configuration and scripting
• Ability to assess complex environments and drive remediation independently
• Experience working in cross-functional, enterprise-scale environments.

Work Site: Remote (MST or CST preferred; must be able to support those time zones)

Duration: 2-3 Months
