Key Responsibilities:

  • Set the strategy and execution for optimizing the CMDB, starting with Discovery and expanding to Mapping, CSDM, and ITAM.
  • Oversee data governance and define the structure of the configuration management system, including identifying Configuration Items (CIs) and establishing naming standards.
  • Track compliance with policies and procedures, resolving or escalating compliance issues as necessary.
  • Review and approve significant IT infrastructure changes to address impacts on configuration management data.
  • Mentor the organization on Configuration Management services, concepts, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide and approve requirements, use cases, and user stories for new or improved CMDB functionality.
  • Review and approve requests for administrator log on credentials and access rights to the CMS infrastructure.
  • Review and publish configuration management reporting and oversee the design, coding, and testing of reports as needed.

Key Skills:

  • 12+ years of experience in ServiceNow CMDB governance and execution.
  • Certification in ITOM Visibility.
  • Experience in setting strategy and execution for CMDB optimization.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to establish a RACI.
  • Knowledge of road mapping and project management.
  • Experience monitoring a managed services provider for data quality and standards.

Job Description

ServiceNow CMDB Product Manager to set the strategy and the execution leveraging a managed services provider to optimize the CMDB starting with Discovery and expanding the CMBD to Mapping, CSDM and ITAM

This includes overseeing data governance, defining the structure of the configuration management system, such as identifying Configuration Items (CIs), establishing naming standards, defining relationships, and supervising mapping and discovery activities. The CMDB Product Manager also tracks compliance to policies and procedures and resolving / escalating any compliance issues.

In addition,

Reviews and approves significant IT infrastructure changes to ensure impacts to configuration management data are properly addressed

Mentors the organization on Configuration Management services, concepts, policies and procedures

Provides and approves all requirements, use cases, user stories, etc. in support of new or improving functionality of the CMDB

Reviews and approves all requests for administrator log on credentials / access rights to the CMS infrastructure

Reviews and publishes configuration management reporting and oversees the design, coding and testing of reports as needed

Top Skills Required

1. Experience managing the day-to-day ServiceNow CMDB governance and execution and are certified in ITOM Visibility

2. Have experience setting the strategy and the execution to optimize the CMDB starting with Discovery and planning expansion of the CMBD to Mapping, CSDM and ITAM
