Summary: This role is a senior-level technical leadership position responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions. The candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide technical guidance to development teams and stakeholders in a remote environment, focusing on platform governance and complex requirements mapping across various ServiceNow modules. Hands-on development is also a key aspect of optimizing ServiceNow capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of comprehensive ServiceNow solutions at an enterprise level.
- Develop technical models, architectural guidelines, and best practices aligned with federal security standards.
- Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to analyze, map, and translate requirements into scalable ServiceNow configurations and blueprints.
- Serve as the SME for ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CMDB, and CSDM modules, providing expert guidance across platform areas.
- Design, implement, and optimize integrations using Integration Hub, REST APIs, and custom spokes for seamless data exchange.
- Oversee platform governance to ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
- Provide technical mentorship to developers, administrators, and project teams throughout solution delivery phases.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, configuration standards, and process workflows.
- Work closely with program managers, product owners, and stakeholders to support project planning, backlog refinement, and solution deployment.
- Troubleshoot platform issues proactively, tuning and refining configurations to enhance performance and stability.
Key Skills:
- High School Degree or equivalent with 12+ years of IT experience or comparable professional background.
- ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) certification is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow architecture, configuration, workflows, and platform enhancements.
- Extensive experience implementing, tuning, and troubleshooting CMDB configurations and integrations.
- Deep understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture and modules, including App Engine Studio, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
- Proven scripting expertise for Discovery Probes, Patterns, ETL processes, and connector customization.
- Demonstrated success integrating ServiceNow with various management systems such as SCCM, Tanium, SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Active Directory, MS Intune, Azure, AWS, and Cisco Intersight.
- Experience with cloud discovery schedules (cloud-based and network-based) and building custom REST API integrations.
- Strong knowledge of platform governance principles and best practices.
- This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal oversight.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard or DHS enterprise modernization programs and familiarity with DoD 8570 security standards is a plus.

Publishing Pay Range: $80.00 - $85.00 hourly
