Summary: The Service Transition Manager role involves overseeing the implementation of changes within a financial services client, focusing on enhancing live service quality and user experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the introduction of change across services while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Improve live service quality by focusing on end user experience and non-functional requirements.
  • Define and enhance management systems for tracking service improvements from Service Transition activities.
  • Collaborate with release and implementation teams for continuous improvement of release processes.
  • Champion risk assessment and mitigation strategies to address transition challenges.
  • Create service design packs that include SLAs, support models, and RACIs.
  • Utilize broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and services in service management.
  • Apply project management principles and methods in service transition activities.
  • Possess knowledge of Service Now and ITIL qualifications.
  • Understand the financial services industry, though not essential.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in Service Management, Release Management, or Service Introduction Management.
  • Knowledge of Release & Change processes and Change Management processes.
  • Ability to manage stakeholder groups across various departments.
  • Experience in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Creation of service design packs and understanding of SLAs and support models.
  • Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and services.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and methods.
  • Service Now knowledge and experience.
  • ITIL qualifications.
  • Hands-on experience in a Release Management role.
