Summary: The Service Design and Introduction Lead/Specialist role focuses on providing expertise in Service Design and Transition for BAU projects within a telecommunications business. The position involves ensuring effective planning and delivery of architecture and design outputs, driving governance, and engaging with Managed Services OSS functions. The role requires leading design workshops, creating Service Design Packages, and assessing customer requirements while maintaining communication with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Service Design authority ensuring effective scoping, planning, and delivery of architecture, design, and transition outputs.
- Drive service design governance across complex solutions.
- Develop and maintain end-to-end processes, policies, operational interfaces, and workflow models.
- Engage with Managed Services OSS functions to ensure adherence to standardised configurations and frameworks.
- Lead design workshops with 3rd party suppliers, documenting and testing operational interfaces and working practices.
- Create and own Service Design Packages for implementation and transfer to operations.
- Assess customer requirements for service design compliance.
- Evaluate customer contracts, identify risks, and provide mitigation strategies.
- Identify non-standard OSS requirements and engage relevant teams for prioritisation.
- Attend senior management meetings to gather business requirements and offer solutions.
- Establish regular communications with team and stakeholders, developing and presenting professional materials.
- Act as the key interface for Service Design into the operational environment for smooth service transitions.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Business Information Systems, or 8 years of equivalent industry experience.
- ITIL v3 or V4 foundation certification, or TOGAF experience desired.
- Proven ability to communicate complex ideas to clients and executive stakeholders.
- Experience in Public Safety technologies (e.g., Tetra or P25) is advantageous.
- Understanding of cellular network architectures and functionality is beneficial.
- Solid foundation in networking concepts (e.g., routing, switching, IP addressing).
- PMP certification is beneficial.
- Strong desire for high customer satisfaction and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Create and own Service Design Packages that can be effectively implemented and transferred to operationsAssess customer requirements, ensuring service design compliance
Evaluate customer contracts, identifying risks and financial exposure and provide mitigation strategies either through service design augmentation, or contract amendmentsIdentify non-standard OSS requirements and engage relevant functions/teams to prioritise implementation
Attend senior management-level meetings to obtain business requirements, offer solutions, and impress best-practice capabilities.
Establish regular communications with team and stakeholders, develop and present professional materials.
Acting as the key interface for the Service Design into the operational environment for consistent, predictable and smooth transition of services into the live operation in accordance with agreed acceptance criteria requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree Telecommunication Engineering, Business Information Systems or 8 years industry experience or equivalent.
ITIL v3 or V4 foundation certification, or TOGAF experience desired
Proven ability to effectively communicate complex ideas, issues, concepts and solutions to clients and executive project stakeholders
Experience in Public Safety technologies eg Tetra or P25 would be advantageous
