Summary: Service Designer needed for a global brand, focusing on remote work with a strong emphasis on Public Sector experience and adherence to Government Digital Service (GDS) standards. The role involves leading service design initiatives, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and producing various service design artefacts. Active SC clearance is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end service design that meets real user needs and delivers policy intent
  • Design accessible, user-centred services across complex digital and offline journeys
  • Map and analyse complex service ecosystems, identifying pain points, dependencies, and opportunities
  • Produce clear, visual service design artefacts including service blueprints, journey maps, and process maps
  • Map and evidence current ‘as-is’ services across systems and channels (online and offline)
  • Facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions with users and stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across policy, product, delivery, operations, systems, and UCD
  • Design in the open, sharing knowledge and working transparently (within security constraints)
  • Align service design with organisational goals, technical constraints, and delivery capability
  • Champion inclusive and user-centred design practices across the organisation
  • Support service strategies and transformation roadmaps
  • Track out-of-scope pain points for future discovery and delivery
  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to the wider design community
  • Ensure services are scalable, sustainable, and continuously improving
