Summary: The role of Service Designer involves designing and improving end-to-end public services, specifically within the context of the Government Digital Service (GDS). Key Responsibilities:

  • Design end-to-end services across the full-service lifecycle (discovery, alpha, beta, live)
  • Create and maintain service blueprints, user journeys, and artefacts
  • Collaborate with product, design, delivery, research, and technical teams
  • Apply systems thinking to complex service problems
  • Ensure services meet GDS Service Standard and assessment requirements
  • Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions with stakeholders and users
