Summary: The role of Service Designer involves supporting the delivery of complex, user-centered digital services within the UK public sector. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and iterate end-to-end services that meet user needs and organisational outcomes
- Apply the GDS Service Standard across discovery, alpha, beta, and live
- Produce service design artefacts including journey maps, service blueprints, and ecosystem maps
- Collaborate with product, delivery, research, content, and technical colleagues
- Use research and insight to inform design decisions
- Support teams through design assurance and service assessments
Key Skills:
- Proven experience working as a Service Designer on NHS services
- Strong, hands-on experience of GDS ways of working and standards
- Experience delivering UK public sector digital services

We are looking for an experienced Service Designer to support the delivery of complex, user-centred digital services in the UK public sector. This is a fully remote contract role, open to UK-based candidates, with an immediate start and running until March.
The role
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary digital team, designing and improving end-to-end services in a large, regulated environment. The role requires strong experience working to GDS standards and designing services at scale.
