Summary: The Level 2 Server Administrator is responsible for maintaining and managing software, hardware, and networks to ensure smooth technology infrastructure operations. The role involves diagnosing and resolving issues quickly, with a strong emphasis on IT and systems administration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in server management and a solid understanding of both Windows and Linux environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure server hardware and software.
- Manage Windows and Linux servers and technology tools.
- Monitor system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
- Troubleshoot issues reported by users or identified through monitoring tools.
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Maintain security through access controls, backups, firewalls, etc.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models as necessary.
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
- Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and policies.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role (minimum of 4 years).
- Experience with Microsoft Teams calling.
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows/Linux) platforms.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
- Proficiency in server management tools and strong understanding of server OS.
- Analytical skills for analyzing system logs and troubleshooting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects.
