Overview We are looking for an SEO Analytics & Reporting Specialist to serve as the architect of our data infrastructure and the bridge between technical data collection and strategic insight. Your primary mission is to ensure our clients have accurate, reliable data and that our SEO team has the automated visualizations needed to prove ROI and drive growth. Responsibilities
- Analytics Implementation, Configuration & Data Quality
- Configure & Audit: Configure, maintain, and audit analytics platforms (primarily GA4, but adaptable to Adobe Analytics or others) to ensure accurate and consistent data collection.
- Event Management: Implement and manage GA4 events, conversions, custom dimensions, and audiences aligned with SEO and business objectives.
- Tracking Architecture: Work with development teams and tag management systems (Google Tag Manager or equivalent) to deploy and maintain robust tracking implementations.
- Quality Assurance: Audit existing setups to identify tracking gaps, inconsistencies, or incorrect implementations to ensure data reliability for decision-making.
- Adaptability: Adapt reporting approaches based on client tech stacks and act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for custom implementations.
- Reporting & Template Design (Looker Studio)
- Dashboard Architecture: Design, build, and maintain standardized reporting templates (primarily using Looker Studio) for SEO clients.
- Usability: Ensure reports are intuitive, visually clear, and usable by SEO specialists with minimal training.
- Data Storytelling: Translate complex GA4 and SEO data into meaningful insights and clear KPIs.
- Scalability: Build flexible reporting structures that allow SEO specialists to customize views (e.g., date ranges, page groups) without breaking data integrity.
- Documentation: Maintain internal documentation and guides explaining how reports should be used and interpreted.
- Data Integration & Connectivity
- Source Management: Connect and manage SEO data sources such as Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, analytics platforms, and keyword tracking tools within reporting environments.
- Unified Reporting: Create a ‘One Search’ report that combines organic and PPC data to highlight opportunities and identify cannibalization.
- Accuracy: Ensure key metrics (clicks, impressions, CTR, average position) are accurately represented and segmented.
- Cross-Platform Alignment: Align Search Console data with GA4 engagement and conversion metrics to tell a complete SEO performance story.
- Keyword Rankings & Performance
- Rank Tracking Integration: Integrate keyword ranking data from rank tracking tools directly into Looker Studio dashboards.
- Business Impact: Ensure reporting clearly connects ranking improvements to actual business outcomes (revenue/leads) where possible.
- KPI Definition: Help define meaningful keyword KPIs for different client types and SEO strategies.
- Data Analysis & Insights
- Trend Identification: Analyze GA4, Search Console, and keyword data to identify trends, anomalies, and traffic fluctuations.
- Strategic Support: Support strategic SEO decision-making through deep-dive reporting, including purchase journey analysis, funnel exploration, and assisted conversions.
- Efficiency: Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automation, and scalability across the agency.
- Internal Enablement & Collaboration
- Internal SME: Act as the internal GA4 and reporting subject matter expert for the SEO team.
- Auditing: Diagnose and fix GA4 issues for new clients and complete detailed audits for top-tier Enterprise clients.
- Training: Educate the team on GA4 concepts, metrics, and best practices.
- Collaborate with SEO specialists to continuously improve dashboards.
Requirements
- Technical Expertise: Deep proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM). You must be able to debug tags, configure data layers, and troubleshoot cross-domain tracking.
- Visualization: Advanced skills in Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio), including data blending, calculated fields, and regex.
- SEO Knowledge: Strong understanding of Technical SEO, Google Search Console, and how search data correlates with onsite behavior.
- Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose "broken data" (e.g., unassigned traffic, referral spam, missing conversions) and fix it.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Participation: Attend team meetings and contribute to the implementation of the company's strategic plan.
- Professional Development: Continuously strive for development by attending webinars, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Risk Management: Responsible for considering, identifying, reporting, and addressing data and operational risks.
- Culture: Participate in processes and practices that uphold the company culture, demonstrating our core values in everything that you do.
Side Note This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
