Summary: The Senior UI/UX Designer role focuses on leading design initiatives for complex web experiences, including user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes. The position also involves frontend development tasks, implementing designs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and leading internal product design for PowerApps and SharePoint. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in UI/UX design, strong proficiency in Figma, and a user-centered approach to design. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and effective communication of design rationale are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create user flows, journey maps, wireframes, and information architecture for complex web experiences
- Design high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes in Figma
- Establish and maintain design patterns and component libraries
- Present and defend design decisions to stakeholders at various levels
- Contribute to the corporate design system by adapting patterns for specific product needs
- Design for accessibility, ensuring WCAG compliance across all experiences
- Implement your designs in production using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Build components in React-based environments (working within a React/Drupal stack)
- Create functional prototypes in Astro.js for rapid iteration and stakeholder reviews
- Collaborate with developers to ensure design fidelity in implementation
- Lead product design for PowerApps solutions and SharePoint environments
- Design intuitive interfaces for internal tools and workflows
- Work with business stakeholders to translate requirements into user-centered designs
- Create design documentation and specifications for internal platforms
Key Skills:
- 5+ years of UI/UX design experience with a portfolio demonstrating strong visual design, interaction design, and problem-solving
- Expert proficiency in Figma (component creation, auto-layout, prototyping, design systems)
- Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and PowerApps
- Proven experience conducting user research and translating insights into design solutions
- Strong understanding of design systems, component architecture, and atomic design principles
- Experience designing for web platforms at scale
- Solid frontend skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React (or similar frameworks)
- Excellent presentation and communication skills you can articulate design rationale to both creative and technical audiences
- Experience designing PowerApps and SharePoint solutions
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (Astro.js, Next.js)
- Background in designing search experiences, content-heavy sites, or enterprise platforms
- Understanding of CMS architectures and content modeling
- Experience working within or contributing to enterprise design systems
- Knowledge of AI/UX integration and innovative design system methodologies
